From the Andes to the Coast

One of the only kitchens cooking true Ecuadorian food in the Twin Cities.

We’re a family. The people who greet you, cook for you, and bring your plate, that’s all of us. Every plate is the food we grew up with, carried north from the highlands and the coast of Ecuador. Big portions, fair prices, and dishes you won’t find anywhere else nearby.

Pull up a chair. Gracias por venir.

Generous by nature

Plates come piled high. Rice, plantain, avocado, and more on the side. You’ll likely leave with a box.

Naturally gluten-free & plant-friendly

So much of our menu is rice, plantain, yuca, and fresh seafood. Vegan? Just ask and we’ll guide you.

Start with these three

Crowd-pleasers that show off what Ecuador does best.

Encebollado GF · DF20.99

Ecuador’s national dish: a bright tuna and yuca broth, tangy with lime, never spicy.

Galápagos Asado DF25

Our grand mixed grill of steak, shrimp, chicken, pork, chicharrón and sausage. To share.

Tortuga Bowl VG · GF16

Our fully plant-based island bowl: yuca, avocado, beans and sweet plantain over rice.

Our family

Named for the islands, and run like a home.

We opened on East Lake Street in 2021 to cook the food we missed: the stews, grills, and ceviches of Ecuador, made the way our family makes them. Grew up on this food, or trying it for the first time? There’s a seat for you here.

New to Ecuadorian food? Welcome.

The two questions everyone asks

Is it spicy?
Almost nothing is spicy by default. Heat comes from ají, a mild homemade chili salsa, you add at the table, so you’re in control.
What does it taste like?
Fresh, bright and comforting. The coast brings lime, peanut and coconut; the highlands bring corn, potato and cheese.
